Pre & Post Treatment Care Guidelines

Laser stretch mark removal is the one of the most effective treatment options for your stretch marks as it helps reduce the visibility of stretch marks. Here are some things to keep in mind before and after deciding on laser treatment for stretch marks.

Pre Care

Post Care

Avoid sun and usage of self-tanning products for 4 weeks before treatment.

Shave the area to be treated at least 1 day before to prevent ingrown hairs.

Epilate or wax your hair continuously up to 5 days before the treatment.

Use an anaesthetic cream on the treatment day, if necessary.

Wear protective eyewear at all times while undergoing treatment.

Possible slight red to brown discoloration after procedure, fades in 10 days.

Allow skin to recover and rest for 4-5 days post-treatment, avoid thermal or mechanical disturbances.

Itchy sensation in the treated area may occur, indicating rejuvenation.

Use SPF 50 sunscreen and avoid direct sunlight during treatment and for 4 weeks post-treatment.

Clean treated area with lukewarm water and mild detergent, and cool with ice packs.

Who is most likely to have stretch marks?

Teens, pregnant women, people who experience weight changes, corticosteroid users, and bodybuilders are prone to stretch marks. The breasts, chest, upper arms, lower back, buttocks, belly, hips, and thighs are all potential locations for the development of stretch marks.

How many treatment sessions are necessary to get rid of stretch marks?

Most stretch marks take three to five treatments, while severe instances may require more. Each patient's objectives decide the amount of sessions. Each treatment is separated by 4-5 weeks. Collagen regeneration takes six months. After six months, the final results will be readily apparent.

Is it possible for lasers to get rid of older stretch marks?

Old stretch marks may be treated using lasers, although not as well as fresh, reddish ones. Older stretch marks can be treated with Fraxel, but it's not as effective as fresher ones.

How long does it take for stretch marks to be removed with a laser? What is the price tag attached to it?

Each laser treatment lasts 30 to 90 minutes, based on the stretch mark's size. Stretch mark removal charges vary per patient based on severity, amount of sessions, etc.

Are stretch marks completely erasable with a laser treatment? Are there any potential negative outcomes linked with this?

Stretch marks are persistent dermal changes that may produce scars. Lasers can reduce stretch mark visibility, but they can't erase them. Stretch mark lasers are safe. Though slight redness, itching, or swelling may occur on the treatment areas, it will fade away within a few days.

Is the elimination of stretch marks using a laser uncomfortable?

Laser treatment for stretch marks do not usually cause any pain. But, there might be a slight discomfort that can be reduced by using a numbing lotion before and after the treatment.
