Pre & Post Treatment Care Guidelines

Laser stretch mark removal is the one of the most effective treatment options for your stretch marks as it helps reduce the visibility of stretch marks. Here are some things to keep in mind before and after deciding on laser treatment for stretch marks.

Avoid sun and usage of self-tanning products for 4 weeks before treatment.
Shave the area to be treated at least 1 day before to prevent ingrown hairs.
Epilate or wax your hair continuously up to 5 days before the treatment.
Use an anaesthetic cream on the treatment day, if necessary.
Wear protective eyewear at all times while undergoing treatment.
Possible slight red to brown discoloration after procedure, fades in 10 days.
Allow skin to recover and rest for 4-5 days post-treatment, avoid thermal or mechanical disturbances.
Itchy sensation in the treated area may occur, indicating rejuvenation.
Use SPF 50 sunscreen and avoid direct sunlight during treatment and for 4 weeks post-treatment.
Clean treated area with lukewarm water and mild detergent, and cool with ice packs.

How many treatment sessions are necessary to get rid of stretch marks?
Most stretch marks take three to five treatments, while severe instances may require more. Each patient's objectives decide the amount of sessions. Each treatment is separated by 4-5 weeks. Collagen regeneration takes six months. After six months, the final results will be readily apparent.
Is it possible for lasers to get rid of older stretch marks?

Is the elimination of stretch marks using a laser uncomfortable?
Laser treatment for stretch marks do not usually cause any pain. But, there might be a slight discomfort that can be reduced by using a numbing lotion before and after the treatment.
