Here are a few important things you need to do before visiting the doctor for a laser treatment procedure:
Avoid sunbathing and tanning at least two weeks before the therapy.
Stop using anti-inflammatory medications like aspirin one week before the therapy to lessen the risk of hematoma.
Avoid applying chemicals, deodorants, or cosmetics to the treatment region at least a week before therapy.
Shave the treatment area before arriving at the clinic.
Get the birthmarks examined by a dermatologist.
After getting the treatment done, ensure that you follow your doctor's post-treatment instructions to speed up healing.
Apply sunscreen lotion to the skin before going in the sun to prevent sunburn.
Refrain from scratching the treated region as the skin might still be sensitive.
Use ice packs on the treatment area if you feel any minor pain or burning sensation. It is normal and will subside after 24 hours.
