Hair Transplantation Procedure at AKJ Skin and Laser Centre
Hair transplantation is the most effective and long-lasting treatment for baldness. Instead of removing hair from strips of skin, hair transplantation uses a patient's healthy hair follicles, each containing three to four hairs. The back and sides of the head are the most common areas to harvest hair from. Only hair follicles at a time are extracted using micro-instruments. Step 01 - Design
The new hairline is designed keeping the existing hairline and the desired results in mind. The design includes the projected number of grafts to create a natural looking hairline.
Step 02 - Anaesthesia

Step 03 - Site Making
Sites are created in the scalp by making incisions where the graft will be implanted. Hair follicles are individually removed from the donor area of the scalp and placed in the sites.
Step 04 - Extraction

Step 05 - Implantation

Restoration or transplantation of hair is a delicate procedure; therefore, you must adhere to the pre-transplantation care instructions.
Some medications may be recommended to be avoided in the weeks leading up to the transplant by the surgeon.
Stay away from alcohol, smoking, and caffeine overdose a week before surgery.
Overexposure of the scalp to sunlight is also discouraged.
It would help if you avoided hair cosmetics such as spray, gel, and other styling products the day before the transplant.
On the day of the procedure, it is recommended that you wash your hair with an antibiotic shampoo.
On the day of the procedure, you should rest and avoid exercise.
The clinic or surgeon performing the FUE hair transplant procedure may suggest that you take particular medications after surgery. You should follow the dosages and timings provided. You should also take care of the following:
Applying an antibiotic ointment to the donor area twice daily for the first 5-6 days after a hair transplant is recommended.
Put a towel under your head and sleep in a recliner chair to elevate your head slightly.
You should rest for 4-7 days without swimming, strenuous exercise, weight lifting, smoking, or drinking.
Hold off on shampooing your hair for a week. After the first week, use only the lotions/conditioners/shampoo prescribed by your doctor for 2 weeks.
For two weeks, staying away from the sun would be ideal.
